Central Health, CommUnityCare, and Sendero Launch Community-Wide Assessment to Identify Central Texas’ Most Pressing Health Needs
June 11, 2026
AUSTIN, TX — The Central Health system, which includes CommUnityCare Health Centers and Sendero Health Plans, has launched a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) to identify the most pressing health challenges facing Travis County residents and guide strategic investments in programs, services, and resources. This collaborative initiative reflects the organizations’ shared commitment to delivering equitable, community-driven health care.
“A stronger health care system starts with listening,” said Dr. Pat Lee, Central Health president and CEO. “This needs assessment will help us better understand the barriers Central Texas residents are facing—from access to care and mental health needs to economic challenges. Hearing directly from our community will help us make smarter, more equitable investments and continue building a more connected system of care that reflects the real needs of the people we serve.”
Community members, partner organizations, and stakeholders are encouraged to participate in an anonymous online survey available at surveymonkey.com/r/CH-CUC-Sendero-CHNA.The survey covers topics including access to care, mental health, chronic disease, economic barriers, and social determinants of health. All responses are anonymous and will be reported only in aggregate—no individual will be identified. Residents can also access the survey by scanning the QR code on printed community materials or by visiting a CommUnityCare or Central Health program site.
Stakeholder organizations, community health workers, faith leaders, schools, and civic groups are asked to share the survey broadly and encourage participation from all parts of the community. A representative response is essential to developing an accurate picture of community health and ensuring that historically underserved populations have an equal voice in shaping future health care priorities.
Central Health has contracted Kulik Strategic Advisers to guide the CHNA process. For questions about or to learn how your organization can participate, contact Marcos Alcorn at malcorn@kulikstrategic.com.
